Our practice

Linen House began with a single question: why do the objects we use every day so often demand so little of us? A brush should not just remove hair — it should feel balanced in the hand, age visibly and gracefully, and sit without apology on a shared shelf. A towel should dry well, yes, but it should also absorb the rhythm of a household rather than resist it.

We work in small batches, shaping each piece from oiled beech, natural bristle, and undyed cotton. Brass ferrules are compression-fit rather than glued. Edges are hand-softened. Surfaces are sealed with a hardwax oil that can be re-applied seasonally, so the object grows more comfortable with use rather than less. Nothing is made to be discarded and replaced; everything is made to be kept, repaired, and passed along.

Materials we trust

Beech for its density and warmth. Natural bristle for its patience with short and medium coats. Undyed cotton for towels that dry quickly and soften without chemical finishes. Brass because it tarnishes handsomely and tells the truth about time. Every material is chosen for how it wears, not just how it looks on day one.

Designed for shared homes

We design for households shared by dogs, cats, and people. That means tools that are easy to clean, surfaces that don't hold onto hair, and a rest tray that keeps bristles off shared counters. It also means a visual language that doesn't shout — no bright plastics, no disposable parts, no packaging that outweighs the product inside.
